Surface preparation is a critical factor in the performance and
life expectancy of any industrial floor coating system. At Industrial
Cohesion Systems, Inc. we know that no two floors are the same.
With this in mind we will evaluate your concrete to select the
best preparation method available.
ICS uses the following equipment to insure a proper
bond profile of the concrete surface..
Shot Blasting
Shot Blasting provides one-step surface preparation for a variety
of concrete surface applications where a minimum amount of material
must be removed in preparation for resurfacing. Blast media (shot)
is directed in a controlled pattern to scour the surface. A powerful
dust collector separates the blasted debris from the shot and
stores it safely for disposal. Steel shot is recycled through
the chamber until it is too small to be effective, and then it
is removed with the debris by the vacuum.
Scabblers
Scabblers are ideal for removing spalling, loose, deteriorating,
and oil-soaked concrete for new overlayments; for ramping large
slab differences; for texturing parking deck and wheelchair ramps;
for producing slip-resistant surfaces; and for removing floor
coatings. They utilize carbide bits in single and multi-head configurations
to hammer concrete or asphalt surfaces, removing bulk material
at penetrations up to ¼” per pass.
Industrial Concrete Grinders
Industrial Concrete Grinders are heavy-duty electric grinders
utilized for the surface preparation of concrete floors prior
to the application of new coatings. They are also ideal for grinding,
honing, and polishing concrete, terrazzo, and stone surfaces.
Scarifiers
Scarifiers utilize rotating circular cutting wheels to perform
a variety of surface preparation functions, including milling
misaligned sidewalks and joints, grooving, texturing, and removing
coatings and traffic lines. Cutting depths are adjustable up to
1/8” per pass. Several types of cutter are offered for achieving
smooth, textured, or grooved surfaces.
Dust Collectors & Vacuums
Dust Collector/Vacuums collect dust and residue from all types
of surface preparation equipment, such as grinders, planers, scabblers,
and shot blasters. They feature powerful suction and efficient
dust collection to reduce the environmental and health hazards
of airborne particles.
